How to Use the EXIF Remover Tool

The EXIF Remover tool helps you delete hidden metadata from your photos, including GPS location, device information, camera model, timestamps, and more. Removing EXIF protects your privacy and reduces unnecessary data stored inside images. All processing happens locally in your browser for maximum safety.

1. Upload Your Image

  • Click the upload area or drag & drop an image into the box.
  • A preview will appear once the file is loaded.
  • The original file size is displayed for comparison.

2. View Existing EXIF Metadata

After uploading, the tool automatically reads and displays all available EXIF data. This may include:

  • GPS coordinates
  • Camera model and lens info
  • Software and device metadata
  • Date and time of capture
  • Exposure, ISO, shutter speed, and more

If the image has no metadata, you'll see a “No EXIF data found” message.

3. Choose Output Format

Select the format for the cleaned image:

  • PNG – lossless, larger size
  • JPG – smaller file size with slight compression

4. Download the Cleaned Image

  • Click Download to save a version of your photo with all EXIF removed.
  • The tool re-renders the image onto a canvas, stripping all metadata.
  • The cleaned file size will be shown after processing.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If the image does not load, ensure the file format is supported (JPG, PNG, WebP, etc.).
  • Large images may take a few seconds to process — please wait.
  • If EXIF does not appear, the file may not contain metadata.

This tool is ideal for sharing photos online, removing GPS data for privacy, or cleaning images before uploading them to websites or social platforms.
